  1. February 28 (27), 2017 – Quiz Unit 4 Quiz #3 (Multiple choice and written) Sections 1-15.  Non-graphing calculator please.  Good luck. Total: X/26
  2. March 2, 2017 – Open Note Lab Quiz Lab 13C Page 195 Acid Base Titration Parts one and two. Total: X/20.
  3. Friday March 10, 2017 -HOMEWORK Sets #29,30,31 and 32 Due.
  4. April 3, 2017.  Unit 4 Test (The Big half-way through the Unit test. Acids and Bases.  Total = x/38.
  5. Wed. April 5, 2016.  Unit 4 OPEN NOTE LAB QUIZ Lab 13D  Hydrolysis (prepare a concept map or write a 3 question quiz).  Total = x/10.
  6. Friday April 7, 2017.  Unit 4 Presentation on Section 21 “Acid Deposition”.  Total = x/16
  7. Thursday May 4, 2017 – Unit 5 Quiz #1 (based on notes and homework).  Total = X/30.
  8. FINAL EXAM Wed. MAY 24, 2017.  Units 1-4 (Buffers etc).  5 written section (~one from each section); ~ 25 multiple choice questions (~6/section).  Total = 25% of Chemistry 12 Final Grade.
  9. Tuesday May 30, 2017 – Part II of the Final Exam.  Total = X./10.
  10. Thursday June 1, 2017  – Lab 14D Electrochemical Cells
  11. Monday June 5, 2017 – Battery Presentations using iPad app “Explain Evrything”  Total = X/10

Quiz Question:  “List the 6 ways to monitor chemical reactions.
For each method include:  1) the rate equation with units; 2) what subscript you selected to use this method; and 3) whether the rate represents  an increasing or a decreasing slope.”

3.  Thursday October 6, 2016 – Test of Grade 11 Material Total = x/33

(Study:   naming compounds, acids, working with sig figs, molarity and  mole calculations and conversions).

4.  Monday October 24, 2016 Test Unit 1 Kinetics Total = x/38

(Study activation energy and activated complex definitions; reaction mechanism, reaction intermediates, catalysts, how to monitor a reaction rate – list 3 and explain why; how to speed up a reaction  – list 4 and explain why and amounts of reactants consumed, or amounts of products produced).

5.  Thursday November 3, 2016 Unit 2 “Equilibrium”  Quiz #1 Total = x/20

Prepare for the quiz by 1) Completing Homework sets #7, #8 and #9.  Be able to describe the processes that permit equilibrium to be established (enthalpy and entropy).
